The Minnesota Wild was hit in the face with a cold dose of winter as it climbed off the team plane today in Winnipeg, but quickly had to shake off the cold for an afternoon practice at the MTS Centre. The team takes on the Jets tomorrow for its first regular season game in Winnipeg this year.

Earlier today, the Minnesota Wild recalled forward Jason Zucker from the team's American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa, and the winger will be in the lineup tonight against the Ottawa Senators.

Tomorrow, we turn back the clocks an hour for daylight savings. That means an extra hour of sleep for everyone. For one Minnesota Wild player, the extra hour of shuteye might be needed.

The game of hockey is often a lifelong love affair, cultivated at a young age by playing the sport. Here in the State of Hockey, sometimes we think that children are born with skates on, but it’s not always the case. For one reason or another, some kids don’t get the opportunity to try the sport, but Minnesota Hockey, in partnership with USA Hockey, is trying to get all youngster to give the game a try…for free.
