As the Minnesota Wild prepares to open its preseason at home tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the club has made its first round of training camp reductions.

The Wild assigned G Alexandre Belanger to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL), D Dylan Labbe to the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) and released D Cody Corbett and LW Carter Sandlak from their amateur tryouts. Corbett was assigned to the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and Sandlak was assigned to the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

The Wild now has 47 players on its training camp roster fighting for spots on Opening Night on Oct. 3 at home against the Los Angeles Kings.
