Wild Recalls McMillan
The Minnesota Wild has recalled forward Carson McMillan from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
McMillan has tallied six points (2-4=6) including one game-winning goal and a plus-4 rating in seven games with Iowa this season. The 25-year-old ranks tied for first on the team in scoring and plus-minus rating. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Brandon, Man., has registered five points (2-3=5), a plus-2 rating and 11 penalty minutes (PIM) in 15 career NHL contests with Minnesota. He tallied 18 points (9-9=18), 31 PIM and a plus-4 rating in 64 games with Houston last season and ranked tied for third in the AHL with three shorthanded goals. McMillan skated in 11 NHL games with Minnesota in 2011-12 and notched three points (1-2=3). He appeared in four games with the Wild in 2010-11 and scored his first-career NHL goal in his NHL debut at Detroit on April 3, 2011 (Jimmy Howard).
McMillan was originally selected by the Wild in the seventh-round (No. 200 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He wears sweater No. 45 for Minnesota.
