Olofsson Named To Selection Camp Roster

Wild prospect Gustav Olofsson has been named to the selection camp roster for Team Sweden's National Junior Team for the upcoming 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship in Malmo, Sweden.

The defenseman is one of 26 players (nine blueliners) invited to training camp from Dec. 16-23 in Angelholm, Sweden, before the country announces its 22-man roster.

The Wild’s second-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft has three points (2-1=3) in five games in his freshman season at Colorado College, including a three-game point streak (11/19-11/23).

Sweden earned a Silver Medal at the 2013 WJC after a 3-1 loss to the United States in the Gold Medal Game in Ufa, Russia last season. Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin and goaltending prospect Johan Gustafsson led the Swedes to a 1-0 overtime victory against Russia in the 2012 WJC Final for the country's first Gold Medal in the event in 30 years.
