Wild To Host Avs In 2014-15 Home Opener

The 2014-15 season may still be a good three months away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start looking forward to it now.

Today, the National Hockey League announced all the home openers for each team, with the Wild hosting one of its biggest rivals (after recent events), the Colorado Avalanche. The two will get the season underway on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Saint Paul.

The Wild has yet to lose a home opener, going 11-0-2. Last season the Wild hosted the eventual Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, falling 3-2 in a shootout decision. The Wild is 7-4-2 all-time in season openers and 7-1-1 when opening the season at home.

For more details regarding the season openers, check here. Also, be sure to stay tuned for more info on the upcoming season.
