Minnesota Wild prospect Raphael Bussieres had a stellar week, putting up numbers that would’ve been impressive to compile during an entire month.
The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft was named the Canadian Hockey League Player of the Week, for the week ending Nov. 18. During the seven-day stretch, the forward piled up 10 points (4-6=10) and was a plus-3.
Last Wednesday, the 19-year-old matched a career-high with four points in a 7-1 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes, scoring a goal and three assists and was named the second star of the game. He finished the week with a pair of three-point games against the Rimouski Oceanic scoring twice with an assist Saturday as first star of a 6-2 win, then collected a goal and two assists as third star of a 5-4 overtime loss on Sunday.
Bussieres helped the Drakkar tie a franchise record of 15 consecutive games without a regulation loss, as the team moved into third place in the QMJHL.
Bussieres is in his fourth QMJHL season with the Drakkar. He has 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 23 games so far this season.
