The Houston Aeros, the Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, had a tough three-game stretch, going 0-2-1 on the weekend.

On Friday, the Aeros were upended by the Texas Stars, 4-1. Defenseman Kyle Medvec scored his second goal of the season with the lone assist going to Nick Petersen. Goaltender Matt Hackett made 35 saves in the loss.

Saturday, the club hosted the Lake Erie Monsters. The Monsters slipped past the Aeros, 3-2. Johan Larsson and Jason Zucker each had a goal. Charlie Coyle set up the Zucker goal, while Chay Genoway assisted Larsson’s. Kris Fredheim added assists on both goals. Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves in defeat.

Sunday, Houston was ousted in overtime by the Charlotte Checkers, 2-1. Kris Foucault scored the team’s goal with an assist going to Zack Phillips. Hackett made 33 saves in the game.

The Aeros didn’t get much time to rest, as the club flew to Minnesota to join the Wild at training camp, presented by Andersen Windows. For camp, the Wild recalled Mikael Granlund and Steven Kampfer. The Aeros released Nick Palmieiri from his AHL-SPC (standard player contract), allowing him to sign a new NHL contract with the Wild on Tuesday.

Tonight, the Aeros are participating in an Intra-Squad Scrimmage along with the Wild at Xcel Energy Center.

Wild Prospects Update

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft skated in two games last week. In 43 games, he has 47 points (20-27=47) and is a plus-19.

D Mathew Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round pick in June’s NHL Entry Draft skated in two games with Red Deer before joining Wild Training Camp Saturday. He has 23 points (10-13=23) in 47 games.

C Tyler Graovac - Belleville (OHL): Notched an assist in two games with Belleville last week. In 33 games, the forward has 22 goals and 18 assists.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): Recorded one assist in three games last week. He has 14 points (2-14=16) and 44 PIM's in 23 games.

College/USHL

D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): Skated in the Spartans’ split with Notre Dame over the weekend. The freshman has five points (1-4=5) on the season.

RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the June’s NHL Entry Draft totaled three assists in three games for the Lumberjacks last week. He has 28 points (12-16=28) and is a plus-13 in 37 games.

LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Did not play in Minnesota’s victories vs. Alaska Anchorage with an upper-body injury suffered Dec. 30. In 19 games, he has 26 points (9-17=26) for the No. 1 ranked Gophers.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Skated in three games with Notre Dame last week. In 13 games, the freshman has five goals and five assists.

LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Did not skate with Penticton last week. In 31 games, he has 26 points (13-13=26).

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): Skated in two games during the Mavericks’ loss and tie at Denver. In 21 games, he has seven points (2-5=7) and is plus-7.

International

RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Recorded a goal and +2 rating in two games last week. Bertsch now has three goals and two assists in 29 games.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Skated in two games with Lulea last week. Has 11 points (5-6=11) in 38 games.

Goaltenders

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Allowed two goals in a loss last week…Ranks second among all Swedish Elite League goalies in goals-against average (1.73 GAA) and T-7th in save percentage (.926 SV%), having stopped 525-of-567 shots.

Stephen Michalek - Cedar Rapids (USHL): Notched a win and loss for Cedar Rapids last week. Has a 2.91 goals-against average, .904 save percentage, and a 7-5-2 record.
