| Rookie Charlie Coyle tipped in the go-ahead goal 3:20 into the third period, Matt Cullen added an insurance goal midway through the period, and the Minnesota Wild took sole possession of the Northwest Division lead by beating the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 on Monday night.
Fellow rookie Jonas Brodin also scored and Niklas Backstrom made 35 saves for Minnesota, which has won five of six and ended an 11-game losing streak in Vancouver.
