Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Plays each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last year's winner was Jason Zucker's first-career goals against Detroit. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen.
In the competition this week, we have a trio of talented young blueliners vying for the first top play of the new season. Up first, is Jonas Brodin, who took a pretty pass from Nino Niederreiter and blew a one-timer past Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick. Up next is Jared Spurgeon, who also took a Nieterreiter pass and buried a power play goal against Nashville. Finally, Mathew Dumba goes top shelf against Dallas for his first career goal, also on the man advantage.
