G Josh Harding earned his first shutout of the season, and RW Justin Fontaine scored his first career game-winning goal as Minnesota claimed a 2-0 victory over Nashville in front of 17, 651 fans Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center. Next up, Minnesota hosts Carolina Thursday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

G Josh Harding earned his eighth career shutout, the first time since a 1-0 victory Jan. 20, 2013 vs. Dallas. Tonight marked his first-ever shutout against Nashville, his fifth shutout at Xcel Energy Center. In his last nine home starts, he has posted three shutouts. Harding moved to 3-0-0 in with a 0.67 GAA in Saint Paul this season – he is now 25-9-2 in career starts at Xcel Energy Center, including 18-4-1 since Jan. 27, 2010 and 7-1-0 in his last eight starts. Overall, he is 4-2-1 on the season and leads the NHL with a 0.96 GAA and .953 SV%.

D Ryan Suter skated in his 600th career NHL game, skating 28:52. He leads the NHL in TOI/game and has led every skater, both Wild and opponent, in all 10 games this season. He skated in 542 games with Nashville from 2005-12.

Minnesota outshot Nashville, 29-16, and has now outshot its opponent in eight of 10 games this season. Entering tonight, Nashville’s previous season low for shots was 25 (vs. Minnesota on Oct. 8). Minnesota leads the NHL in fewest shots against per game.

RW Justin Fontaine scored his second goal of the season. The rookie is now tied with Matt Cooke for the Wild lead with a +5 rating this season.

LW Zach Parise tallied two assists in tonight’s game. The first on Fontaine’s goal and the second on Pominville’s empty-netter. He now leads the Wild with seven points on the season (2-5=7).

D Clayton Stoner earned his second assist of the season with the primary helper on Fontaine’s goal.

RW Jason Pominville scored his fourth goal of the season on an empty net.

Nashville G Pekka Rinne stopped 27-of-28 shots on the night.
