Chicago scored two goals less than two minutes apart in the second period en route to a 5-1 victory over Minnesota in front of a sellout crowd of 18,685 fans Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. RW Jason Pominville claimed the Wild goal lead with his seventh marker of the year, while C Mikael Granlund used an assist to take the team lead with eight this season. Next up, Minnesota hosts Montreal Friday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North PLUS and KFAN 100.3 FM.

Minnesota suffered its first regulation loss at Xcel Energy Center, moving to 4-1-2 in Saint Paul this season.

RW Jason Pominville scored his seventh goal of the year, most on the Wild this season. He has three goals in his last two games and four in his last four contests.

C Mikael Granlund netted the assist on Pominville’s goal and now holds the Wild lead with eight helpers this season, including four assists in a three-game point streak – tied for his career-longest. In 13 games, he’s matched his total points scored in 27 games last season (2-6=8).

D Clayton Stoner tallied his third assist of the season.

G Niklas Backstrom made 23 saves in the loss.

LW Dany Heatley skated in his 800th NHL game, while C Zenon Konopka skated in his 300th.

D Ryan Suter skated 28:35 and has led every skater, both Wild and opponent, in ice time during all 12 games this season.

Minnesota wore its new white jerseys at Xcel Energy Center for the first time. The Wild will also wear them on home ice Feb. 6 vs. Nashville.

RW Patrick Sharp, D Sheldon Brookbank, D Nick Leddy, RW Patrick Kane and LW Brandon Saad scored for Chicago, marking the most goals Minnesota has allowed in a game this season. G Corey Crawford made 29 saves in net for Chicago.
