Last year, Wild.com wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last year's winner was Jason Zucker's first-career goals against Detroit. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.
This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen. Last week's winner was Ryan Suter, who capped off a hat trick against Washington.
This week, we have a young goaltender making a series of big saves, a rookie on his way to a hat trick and a cagy veteran finishing off a nice passing play. Up first, Darcy Kuemper makes saves with his legs then snags a glove save on his way to a shootout win in Los Angeles. Up next, Justin Fontaine goes top shelf on his first of three goals against Phoenix. Finally, Dany Heatley finishes a quick passing play against Nashville.
