The Day Two Picks
The Minnesota Wild began Saturday morning with four picks, and none until the fourth round at 110 overall. Here are the Wild's picks from Saturday:

Justin Falk tallied three goals and 12 assists in 62 games with Spokane of the WHL last season.
Round 4 - 110 Overall

Justin Falk - Defense - Spokane Chiefs (WHL) - 6-5 - 215 - Snowflake, Manitoba

The Wild continued to beef up by adding 6-foot-5, 215-pound defenseman Justin Falk of the Spokane Chiefs. Falk played in 62 games with the Chiefs in 2006-07 and picked up 15 points on three goals and 12 assists. He also picked up 88 penalty minutes. Falk was ranked number 74 among North American skaters.

Central Scouting Report: A stay-at-home defenseman with good size...sees the ice well and makes good outlet passes...gets his point shot through to the net...has good mobility for a player his size and good defensive positioning.

Round 5 - 140 Overall

Cody Almond brings more size and the potential for scoring.
Cody Almond - Center - Kelowna Rockets (WHL) - 6-2 -199 - Calgary, Alberta

The Wild went with a bit of an unknown in Round five with center Cody Almond of the Kelowna Rockets. Almond scored 15 goals and 28 assists for 43 points in 68 WHL games last season. According to Kelownarockets.com, Almond is a "potentially big-scoring power forward. He has shown frequent flashes of the strength and goal-scoring hands that should one day be the backbone of his game. The only question now is his consistency."

Hockey Journal Report: With Almond, you know you'll be getting maximum effort each game. A powerful forward that has underrated skills, Almond had a modest 43 points in 68 games for the rebuilding Rockets. However, he recorded 19 points in his final 19 games, and was the first player in Kelowna history to lead the team in scoring as a 17-year-old. He also won the team's Most Improved Player award, scoring only three points in 2005-2006. Almond played in all situations and will be counted on more heavily next year to provide offense.

Round 6 - 170 Overall

Harri Ilvonen was ranked 21st among European skaters in this year's draft.
Harri Ilvonen - Defense - Tappara Jr. (Finland Jr.) - 6-3 -187 - Helsinki, Finland

Minnesota took the 21st-ranked European skater in the sixth round - Harri Ilvonen. Again stocking up on size (6-foot-3), the Wild takes its second defenseman of this draft. Ilvonen skated in 39 games for Tappara Jr. in the Finnish Junior League. He finished with nine goals, 21 assists 38 penalty minutes.

Central Scouting Report: A playmaking defenseman with strong skating ability...a mobile skater with good hands...Makes good decisions with the puck and able to make passes through traffic...defensively reliable and versatile...uses his size and reach to his advantage...Needs to improve his first step quickness.

Round 7 - 200 Overall

Carson McMillan - Right Wing - Calgary (WHL) -6-0 - 200 - Brandon, Manitoba

Minnesota wrapped up its 2007 Draft with the seventh round pick of Carson McMillan,  giving the Wild four new players from the Western Hockey League. McMillan played his second season with the Calgary Hitmen in 2006-2007 and finished the year with seven goals, 15 assists and 76 penalty minutes in 72 games. He also scored two goals in 18 WHL playoff games.
