Just one more competition remains as the Minnesota Wild selects its National Anthem singer for the 2007-2008 season. Just three finalists remain, with each getting a chance to perform the Anthem during a Wild preseason game. The winner will be picked by the fans, who will be able to view each of the performances on Wild.com beginning on October 1. The winner will be the singer with most votes at the end of the day on October 2.
The finalists were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges including: Wild coaches Jacques Lemaire, Mario Tremblay and Mike Ramsey, FSN North's Anthony LaPanta, KTSP's Vineeta Sawkar, Pioneer Press Pop Music critic Ross Raihala and WCCO Radio's Jearlyn Steele.
Without further ado, the Wild National Anthem finalists are (listed in order of performance date):
Lauren Redpath of White Bear Lake, who will perform on September 18 vs. Detroit
Sara Renner of Minneapolis, who will perform September 26 vs. St. Louis
Mandy Maietta of Shoreview, who will perform September 30 vs. Chicago
