Wild About Children Raises $180,000

On Monday, December 3, the Minnesota Wild hosted Wild About Children, presented by R.F. Moeller Jeweler, and raised $180,000 for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.  The amount raised is the highest total in the four years the team has held this event and almost doubled last year’s record amount raised of $93,000.

The entire Wild roster waited on tables and mingled with the 200 guests in attendance at the sold-out event, which included a silent and live auction, and a Rolex giveaway valued at $5,000 courtesy of R.F. Moeller Jeweler.  Wild About Children was held on Monday, Dec. 3 at Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant in downtown St. Paul with proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Sports & Entertainment (MSE) Community Giving Fund is a donor-advised fund of the Minnesota Community Foundation. We focus our support on children’s medical related causes, educational initiatives and the growth and development of youth athletic programs.  Over the past seven years, MSE Community Giving has invested more than $2.8 million back into our community and has made significant donations to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. We have provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for community fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations and our players and staff have made countless appearances in the community.  The Minnesota Wild remains committed to making a difference in the community, while being inspired by our passion for hockey and our compassion for those in need.

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the seventh-largest children’s health care organization in the U.S., with 326-staffed beds at its two hospital campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. An independent, not-for-profit health care system, Children’s of Minnesota provides care through over 13,000 inpatient visits and more than 200,000 emergency room and other outpatient visits each year.
