“Owen Nolan is a true power winger who can score goals, play a physical brand, play either wing and take face-offs,” said Risebrough.  “We are excited to add a player of his experience and versatility.”

Nolan, 36 (2/12/72), recorded 32 points (16-16=32) and 71 penalty minutes (PIM) in 77 games with the Calgary Flames in 2007-08. The 16-year NHL veteran is a five-time NHL All-Star (1992, 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2002) and has collected 807 points and 1,727 penalty minutes in 1,068 career matches with Quebec, Colorado, San Jose, Toronto, Phoenix and Calgary. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Belfast, Northern Ireland has also tallied 139 power play goals and 45 game-winning markers in his career. Nolan played in his 1000th NHL game on Oct. 22, 2007 becoming the 220th NHL player to reach the milestone. He has notched 40 points (21-19=40) including seven game-winning goals in 65 career Stanley Cup playoff contests.

The Quebec Nordiques originally selected Nolan with the first overall selection in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. The two-year contract pays him $2,750,000 per season.
