Walz and Roloson Visit Children’s Hospital

Minnesota Wild center Wes Walz, and goaltender Dwayne Roloson visited Children's Hospital in St. Paul on Tuesday morning. During the visit, Roloson and Walz started in the Minnesota Wild teen room where they visited with young patients and signed autographs for a half hour.

From there, they headed to the epilepsy and hematology and oncology wards where they met with young cancer and epileptic patients. The kids were ecstatic to see two of their hockey heroes, who were just as happy to visit with the kids.

"It was great to get back to Children's Hospital again, because it's been a long time," said Walz. "It was great to see the smiles on the faces of all of the kids. They definitely put smiles on our faces."

The Minnesota Sports & Entertainment Community Giving Fund has partnered with Children's Hospitals in St. Paul and Minneapolis, and will continue to support the organization throughout the season. In addition to continued visits from Wild players, patients are given tickets through the Wild Ticket Assists Program. The program allows season ticket holders to donate tickets that they can't use non-profit organizations, including Children's Hospitals.

"Wes and Dwayne were amazing with our young patients," said Dr. Moertel of the hematology and oncology wing in Children's Hospital. "We are so happy to see the Wild back here again."
