Post Game Quotes - Jacques Lemaire
MINNESOTA COACH JACQUES LEMAIRE QUOTES
Friday, October 29, 2005 versus Columbus
What was the big difference from last night, what did you tell them:
"I told them we had to be stronger with the puck and work as a team, which we did. This is exactly how I want them to play. I know I can't get them to play 80 games like that; as much as I can get it that is what I want."
Even last night Columbus created a lot of traffic and the defense really kept them to the outside of getting those dangerous pucks:
"At times we blame the defensemen but you know there is a certain job that the center has to do and the winger. We were stronger on the boards tonight than we were last night. They save a lot of energy because the puck is not in our end and they don't have to chase people, so that helps them."
Nick Schultz
"I think we did a better job tonight. Obviously they had a ton of shots last night and we wanted to do a better job of that. I think that is just not the defensemen. You can attribute that to the forwards being in a good position and the goaltender has been strong. Manny played well again.
What is the biggest difference tonight:
"We talked before the game and Jacques wanted more intensity. I think that is what we were lacking last game and winning battles. We play better at home and we need to find that intensity on the road."
