Filip Kuba Named Team Captain For November

FILIP KUBA NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN FOR MONTH OF NOVEMBER

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough and Head Coach Jacques Lemaire have announced that D Filip Kuba will serve as team captain for the month of November, while LW Brian Rolston and C Wes Walz will continue to serve as alternate captains.

The Wild will continue to rotate the captaincy on a monthly basis this season, based on the player who has shown the greatest leadership qualities.  Rolston and Walz are also eligible to be named a monthly captain, in which case a new alternate captain would be named for the month.

Kuba, 28 (12/29/76), led the Wild in average ice time in October (25:08) and currently leads Wild defensemen in scoring with five points (2-3=5). The native of Ostrava, Czech Republic has led Minnesota in average ice time in each of the club's first four seasons, and in 2004 became the first Wild defenseman to play in the NHL All-Star Game.
