Announcement To Be Made In St. Paul, Live on OLN Prior To Dallas-Minnesota Game

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey announced today that it will unveil its 2006 Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team on Monday, Dec. 19, in St. Paul, Minn.

The roster announcement will be made as part of the Outdoor Life Network’s live telecast of the Dallas at Minnesota National Hockey League game from the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

"We’re extremely pleased to not only bring the excitement associated with the announcement of our men’s Olympic team to fans across America through the NHL’s broadcast partner in OLN, but also incorporate a live in-arena component to the announcement in front of some of the best hockey fans in the world," said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey.

Dr. Mike Emrick and John Davidson, OLN’s top broadcast team and also the two men that will provide play-by-play and color commentary for NBC’s coverage of men’s ice hockey during the 2006 Olympic Winter Games, will reveal the 23-man roster live from the ice surface at the Xcel Energy Center beginning at 7:05 p.m. CST. Emrick and Davidson will be joined on the ice by Don Waddell, general manager of Team USA and also the executive vice president and general manager of the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers and Paul Holmgren, assistant general manager of Team USA and also assistant general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Team USA is coming off a silver-medal performance in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
