Jacques Lemaire Postgame Quotes

MINNESOTA COACH JACQUES LEMAIRE QUOTES
Saturday, December 17, 2005 versus Montreal

What were your thoughts on that power play in overtime:

“We tried to get a guy in front of the net. At first it was Chouinard [Marc].  We had quite a few chances four on three.  We decided to let Rolston [Brian] and Foster [Kurtis] tee it up.  Right before the goal, I switched and put Koivu [Mikko] in front.  I knew he would stand in front to screen.”

How do you feel the White line played:

“They played really well.  I thought they dominated every time they were out there.  Montreal was really strong on the puck.  They were in our face all night.  Montreal came out strong in the first period and I thought we played better in the second.

Talk about Rollie’s [Dwayne Roloson]:

“We were happy with the win for him tonight.  He has been playing well but just not winning.  This could be a good start for him.”

BRIAN ROLSTON

How big was this win tonight:

“It was huge.  The power play goal we got that tied it was huge.  Daigle [Alexandre] made a nice pass to me out front. It was nice to kill off that early four on three in overtime.  They are a talented team.  I had a couple of good shots in overtime.  You can’t ask a goalie to stop a shot like the one Foster [Kurtis] had to win the game.  He went top shelf and Koivu [Mikko] was in front screening.

Is this something you can build on:

“It feels good to win.  I thought we played hard and it feels good to win.  We had to scratch and claw for everything we got tonight.  We have to keep this work ethic for future games.  We have to keeping scratching and clawing like we did tonight, Monday against Dallas.
