Wild Prospects Report - Jan. 18

HOUSTON AEROS (29-10-1-1, 1st place in West Division) - Houston won three of four home games played last week…LW Kirby Law tallied a goal and two assists to extend his point streak to 13 games, RW Matt Foy, D Curtis Murphy and C Erik Westrum each scored first-period power play goals and G Seamus Kotyk made 29 saves as Houston defeated San Antonio 4-1 at Toyota Center on Sunday...The Aeros dropped a 3-2 decision to the Iowa Stars on Friday…Law and Murphy scored and Kotyk made 32 saves…Westrum (2-1=3) and Law (1-2=3) each picked up three points and Murphy notched a goal and an assist, as the Aeros earned a 6-1 victory over Iowa on Thursday...Foy and LW Roman Voloshenko also scored, C Patrick O’Sullivan and LW Peter Olvecky chipped in two assists apiece and Kotyk made 16 saves in relief of an injured G Josh Harding…Houston opened the week with a 4-2 win against Toronto on Tuesday…Harding posted a franchise-record 56 saves, including 26 in the second period, and Westrum (2-1=3) and Law (1-2=3) each posted three-point nights…Rookie D Clayton Stoner added a goal and an assist and Murphy chipped in two helpers…Law (26-33=59) leads the AHL in goals and is tied with Westrum (19-40=59) for the AHL scoring lead with 59 points each…O’Sullivan ranks first in rookie scoring with 41 points (19-22=41)…Murphy ranks second in defensemen scoring with 36 points (7-29=36)…The Aeros host Rochester on Friday and Peoria on Saturday before playing at Chicago on Sunday.

Future Wild

CHL

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Has scored 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points in 39 games with Portland. Ranks fifth on his team in scoring and third in penalty minutes with 80. Owns four power play tallies this season.

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Has scored 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points in 40 games with Val-D’Or. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and has scored seven power play goals and two game-winning goals.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Has scored one goal in 40 games with Tri-City while accumulating 63 penalty minutes.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Has scored four goals and three assists for seven points in 44 games with Kamloops. Three of his goals have come on the power play.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Scored 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points in 26 games with Sudbury. Leads the team in goals and plus/minus rating (+12), and ranks second in scoring. Has eight power play goals and three shorthanded goals. Collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes in helping Canada to a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Has scored eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 45 games. Is second on the team with five power play goals and ranks tied for fifth in scoring.

College

D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East):

Has scored five assists in 18 games with B.C.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored six goals and five assists for 11 points in 22 games with Western Michigan. Ranks third on the team in scoring and tied for second in goals.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 15 games, and ranks fifth on the team in scoring despite missing nine games with a broken finger.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 23 games with  Miami. Ranks tied for second on the team in scoring and second in goals. Has four power play goals, two game-winning goals and one shorthanded goal.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 15 goals and eight assists for 23 points in 22 games. Ranks second on the team in goals and tied for third in scoring. Leads the team with eight power play goals and is tied for first with three game-winning goals.

Europe

C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE):

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored one goal and nine assists for 10 points in 36 games with CSKA Moscow.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 31 games with HC Fribourg. Scored two goals and three assists for seventh place Switzerland at the World Juniors.

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and two assists for four points in 22 games.

Goaltenders

Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL):

 Owns a 13-8-0 record with a 3.12 goals against average and a .911 save percentage with two shutouts. Posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage for second-place Russia at the World Juniors.

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 7-2-0 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was re-assigned from Houston on January 7.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 10-5-1 record with a 3.33 goals against average and a .877 save percentage.
