Wild Prospects Report - Jan. 25

 
 Wild prospect Danny Irmen has 21 points in 17 games played for the Minnesota Gophers this season.
HOUSTON AEROS (32-11-1-1, 1st place in West Division) – Former NHL All-Star Patrick Lalime posted 33 saves and Ryan Ramsay’s goal 12 seconds into the second period gave him all the support he’d need, as Peoria defeated Houston 3-0 at Carver Arena on Tuesday...G Seamus Kotyk made 24 stops for the Aeros…Houston won all three games it played last week…Kotyk made 30 saves, C Erik Westrum posted two goals and an assist, LW Roman Voloshenko and C Patrick O’Sullivan each added a goal and a helper and RW Kirby Law recorded an assist to extend his point streak to a franchise record 16-games (13-18=31), as the Aeros knocked off Chicago 4-0 at Allstate Arena Sunday…Voloshenko notched two goals and an assist, Law tallied a goal and two assists and Westrum supplied four helpers to tie a career-high as Houston defeated Peoria 5-1 at Toyota Center Saturday...G Miroslav Kopriva made 35 saves and O’Sullivan and D Clayton Stoner each netted a goal…O’Sullivan scored two goals, Westrum tallied a goal and an assist, and Kotyk made 34 saves as the Aeros earned a 5-1 victory over Rochester at home Friday…Voloshenko also scored and RW Matt Foy and C Rem Murray collected two assists each…Westrum leads the AHL in scoring with 68 points (22-46=68)…Law is second with 64 points (27-37=64)…O’Sullivan ranks first in rookie scoring with 46 points (23-23=46)…D Curtis Murphy ranks second in defensemen scoring with 37 points (7-30=37)…Houston completes its current four-game road trip with a game at Iowa on Thursday and a contest at Peoria on Friday before returning home to host Chicago on Saturday…Saturday’s game against Chicago will complete a stretch of seven games played in nine days for the Aeros.

Future Wild

CHL

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Has scored 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points in 41 games with Portland. Ranks fifth on his team in scoring and third in penalty minutes with 80. Owns four power play tallies this season.

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Has scored 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points in 43 games with Val-D’Or. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and has scored seven power play goals and two game-winning goals.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Has scored one goal in 43 games with Tri-City while accumulating 68 penalty minutes.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Has scored four goals and three assists for seven points in 44 games with Kamloops. Three of his goals have come on the power play.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Scored 23 goals and 18 assists for 41 points in 29 games with Sudbury. Leads the team in goals and plus/minus rating (+16), and ranks second in scoring. Has nine power play goals and three shorthanded goals. Collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes in helping Canada to a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Has scored nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 48 games. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring.

College

D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East):

Has scored six assists in 20 games with B.C.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored six goals and five assists for 11 points in 22 games with Western Michigan. Ranks third on the team in scoring and tied for second in goals.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 17 games, and ranks fifth on the team in scoring and fourth in goals despite missing nine games with a broken finger.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 25 games with  Miami. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and third in goals.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points in 24 games. Ranks third on the team in scoring and second in goals, while leading the club with eight power play tallies.

Europe

C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE):

Scored six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 25 games with Frolunda. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in assists. Has played five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 43 games with CSKA Moscow.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 17 goals and 12 assists for 29 points in 33 games with HC Fribourg. Ranks first on his team in goals and tied for second in scoring. Scored two goals and three assists for seventh place Switzerland at the World Juniors.

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and two assists for four points in 42 games.

Goaltenders

Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL):

 Owns a 14-8-0 record with a 3.06 goals against average and a .912 save percentage with two shutouts. Posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage for second-place Russia at the World Juniors.

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 7-2-0 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was recalled by Houston on January 13.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 10-5-1 record with a 3.33 goals against average and a .877 save percentage.
