Jacques Lemaire Postgame Quotes

Thursday, February 09, 2006 versus Colorado

Your thoughts on Aebischer (David).

“Every game that he has played against us he has played very well.  Just like tonight, he was very solid.  But some of our chances missed the net.  It was a good skating game.  You can’t make any mistakes against them.  We tried to pressure them, all of a sudden, Gabby (Marian Gaborik) looses an edge and they come down and score.”

Does Colorado seem to have your number?

“It seems so.  But it all starts with the goalie, and goes from there.  They seem to find a way to get a goal at the right time.  But they have a quite a few experienced players.  We can’t forget about that.”

Your thoughts on Tjarnqvist’s (Daniel) play.

“He’s been playing solid.  We like the way he plays.  He’s only had one tough game in the last 20.  We hope he can keep it up.”

Marian Gaborik

Too much Aebischer tonight?

“He was very good tonight.  The guys were telling each other to go high on him, but we couldn’t get it done.  We didn’t have a very good second period.  I don’t know what went wrong.  I don’t know if it was a lack of energy or what.  We got some rebounds but couldn’t put it in.  It felt like there were a couple bad calls, but what are you going to do.”

Is Colorado a tough team for you guys to play against?

“They are a very solid club, but we have to win these kinds of games if we are going to move up in the standings.  This was a tough loss, we have to bear down, we have to regroup, and hopefully get a win tomorrow night in Edmonton.”
