Wild Prospects Report - Feb. 22

HOUSTON AEROS: (38-14-1-2, 1st place West Division) – Houston won all three games it played last week to complete a five-game road trip (3-2-0)…LW Josh Olson, LW Bill Kinkel and RW Kirby Law each scored in the game’s opening 3:58, D Curtis Murphy became Houston’s all-time leading goal scorer among defensemen and G Seamus Kotyk made a season-high 45 saves as the Aeros held off the Iowa Stars 4-3 at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday…C Erik Westrum scored two goals, Law tallied a goal and two assists to set a new career-high for points and C Patrick O’Sullivan netted a goal and an assist as Houston earned a 4-1 victory at Iowa on Friday...G Josh Harding made 34 saves…D Ryan Stokes snapped a tie with 7:21 left in regulation, O’Sullivan scored twice and Law and LW Roman Voloshenko each added a goal and two assists, leading Houston back from a two-goal deficit for a 6-4 victory over the Cleveland Barons at Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday…Harding made 38 saves in his return from a 13-game injury absence…Murphy added three assists…The Aeros host Iowa on Thursday and then face second-place Milwaukee in back-to-back road games on Saturday and Sunday this week…Westrum leads the AHL in scoring with 79 points (27-52=79) and Law ranks second with 78 points (33-45=78)…O’Sullivan leads AHL rookies and ranks tied for sixth overall in scoring with 61 points (31-30=61)…Murphy ranks tied for second in defensemen scoring with 46 points (8-38=46)…Harding is 23-7-0 and ranks second in the AHL with a .924 save percentage and 11th with a 2.62 goals against average.

Future Wild

CHL

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Has scored 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points in 53 games with Portland. Ranks fifth on his team in scoring and third in penalty minutes with 129. Scored five power play goals and four game-winners

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Has scored 19 goals and 33 assists for 52 points in 56 games with Val-D’Or. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and has picked up 10 goals on the power play.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Has scored one goal and one assist in 58 games with Tri-City while accumulating 95 penalty minutes.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Has scored four goals and five assists for nine points in 58 games with Kamloops.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Scored 33 goals and 27 assists for 60 points in 40 games with Sudbury. Leads the team in scoring, goals and plus/minus rating (+21), and ranks second in scoring. Has 11 power play goals, four shorthanded goals, and three game-winners. Collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes in helping Canada to a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Has scored 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 59 games. Ranks tied for fourth on the team in scoring and second with seven power play goals.

College

D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East): Picked up seven assists in 28 games in freshman season with B.C.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 34 games with Western Michigan. Ranks third on the team in goals and scoring.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 21 games, ranking second on the Gophers in goals and fourth in scoring. Has been named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week twice this season despite missing 11 games due to injury.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points in 32 games with Miami. Ranks second on the team in goals and tied for second in scoring. Six of his goals have come with the man-advantage, and four have been game-winners.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 22 goals and 14 assists for 36 points in 32 games. Ranks first on the team in goals and scoring. Leads the team with 10 power play goals.

Europe

C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE): Scored six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 25 games with Frolunda. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in assists. Has played five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 46 games with CSKA Moscow.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points in 35 games with HC Fribourg. Ranks first on his team in goals and fourth in scoring. Scored two goals and three assists for seventh place Switzerland at the World Juniors.

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and three assists for five points in 47 games.

Goaltenders

Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL): Owns a 18-12-0 record with a 3.05 goals against average and a .914 save percentage with two shutouts. Posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage for second-place Russia at the World Juniors.

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 7-2-0 record with a 2.00 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was recalled by Houston on January 13.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 11-5-1 record with a 3.14 goals against average and a .884 save percentage.
