Wild defenseman Filip Kuba became the first active Wild player to ever wear an Olympic medal around his neck on Saturday. Kuba and the Czech Republic shut out Team Russia, 3-0, on the strength of 28 saves by Tomas Vokoun.

Martin Erat, Marek Zidlicky and Martin Straka scored a goal in each period for the Czechs, who won gold in the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.

Kuba did not register a point on Saturday, and he finished the tournament with one goal in eight games and a +1 rating.

Two more Wild players will earn a medal tomorrow. Daniel Tjarnqvist of Sweden and Mikko Koivu of Finland will battle for gold at 7:30 AM CST tomorrow morning.
