Jacques Lemaire Postgame Quotes
MINNESOTA COACH JACQUES LEMAIRE QUOTES
Sunday, March 05, 2006 versus Colorado
Does it feel like it took forever to win number 400?
“What 400? Never really thought about it. I like to win games and play well. That’s my goal, and if there is a reward it goes to the whole team.”
What made you use Marian Gaborik on the penalty kill?
“Sometimes I get a feeling, and I thought he might get the puck. I know when I put him in there it was a kind of a risk. I had to find six guys for the four minute penalty and not go with just four.”
Talk about how big it was to come away with a win tonight.
“It was a great win. And at this time of year we are looking for wins right now. Against this team they always come back in the third and win. This was good for the players. Hopefully we stay on this note and win the next game. I felt the guys worked hard tonight.”
Was this a fun game to play tonight?
“Yes it was, especially when you win. It was great to start off strong at home after a long layoff, and how we played on the road. We talked about playing strong and starting well at home.”
Do you feel you guys are playing under any pressure?
“Maybe a little, but you can’t let that dictate on how you play. This was a big game against Colorado in our own division, and this is a game we really wanted. We need to win as many games as we can, but not feel they’re must wins. We want to have fun and play hard.”
Talk about the short handed goal.
“I was looking to pass to Walz (Wes), but I thought I had a little room so I decided to shoot."
