 Benoit Pouliot continues to pace the Sudbury Wolves in scoring with 35 goals in 49 games.
HOUSTON AEROS: (44-17-1-2, 1st place West Division) – The Aeros went 2-2-0-0 in four games played last week…Houston dropped a 6-1 contest at Omaha on Sunday to start a four-game road trip…LW Kirby Law scored and G Seamus Kotyk made 30 saves…C Patrick O’Sullivan scored two goals, becoming just the second rookie in the last 15 seasons in the AHL to reach the 40-goal plateau, and C Erik Westrum chipped in a goal and an assist, as the Aeros completed a two-game sweep of the Chicago Wolves with a 4-3 victory at Toyota Center on Thursday…Rookie G Miroslav Kopriva made 27 saves in his return to Houston, and Law and D Curtis Murphy collected two assists…O’Sullivan netted his team record third hat trick and added and an assist, Law supplied three assists and LW Roman Voloshenko and RW Matt Foy scored in the final two rounds of the shootout, as the Aeros outlasted the Wolves 5-4 at home on Tuesday…G Josh Harding made 28 saves…Law (35-56=91) leads the AHL in scoring with 91 points…Westrum is second with 89 points (31-58=89)…O’Sullivan leads AHL rookies and ranks tied for fifth overall in scoring with 75 points (41-34=75)…His 41 goals ranks third in the league…Murphy ranks second in defensemen scoring with 55 points (10-45=55)…Houston plays four games this week starting Wednesday at Chicago, then plays at Milwaukee on Friday, at San Antonio on Saturday and hosts San Antonio on Sunday.

CHL

C Kyle Bailey - Portland (WHL): Has scored 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points in 62 games with Portland. Ranks tied for fourth on his team in scoring, fourth in assists and third in penalty minutes with 137. Scored five power play goals and four game-winners.

LW Patrick Bordeleau - Val-D’Or (QMJHL): Has scored 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points in 65 games with Val-D’Or. Ranks fifth on the team in scoring and has picked up 13 goals on the power play.

D Riley Emmerson - Tri-City (WHL): Has scored one goal and one assist in 63 games with Tri-City while accumulating 104 penalty minutes.

LW Matt Kassian - Kamloops (WHL): Has scored five goals and six assists for 11 points in 65 games with Kamloops.

LW Benoit Pouliot - Sudbury (OHL): Scored 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points in 49 games with Sudbury. Leads the team in goals and plus/minus rating (+23), and ranks second in scoring. Has 11 power play goals, five shorthanded goals, and three game-winners. Collected five assists and 14 penalty minutes in helping Canada to a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships.

D A.J. Thelen - Prince Albert (WHL): Has scored 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points in 69 games. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and tied for third with seven power play goals.

College

D Anthony Aiello - Boston College (Hockey East): Picked up eight assists in 34 games during freshman season with B.C.

RW Mike Erickson - Western Michigan (CCHA): Scored nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 39 games with Western Michigan. Ranks third on the team in goals and tied for third in scoring.

C Danny Irmen - Minnesota (WCHA): Scored 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in 27 games, ranking third on the Gophers in goals and fourth in scoring. Has been named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week twice this season despite missing 11 games due to injury.

F Ryan Jones - Miami (CCHA): Scored 20 goals and 13 assists for 33 points in 36 games with Miami. Ranks first on the team in goals and second in scoring. Leads the team with six game-winning tallies.

C Kyle Wilson - Colgate (ECAC): Scored 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in 37 games. Ranks first on the team in goals and tied for first in scoring. Leads the team with 10 power play goals.

Europe

C Morten Madsen - Frolunda Jr. (SWE): Scored six goals and 20 assists for 26 points in 25 games with Frolunda. Ranks fourth on the team in scoring and second in assists. Has played five games for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League.

D Georgi Misharin - CSKA Moscow (RUS): Scored three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 46 games with CSKA Moscow.

RW Julien Sprunger - HC Fribourg (SUI): Scored 22 goals and 14 assists for 36 points in 41 games with HC Fribourg. Ranks first on his team in goals and fifth in scoring. Scored two goals and three assists for seventh place Switzerland at the World Juniors.

D Mikhail Tyulyapkin - Novokuznetsk (RUS): Scored two goals and three assists for five points in 47 games.

Goaltenders

Anton Khudobin - Saskatoon (WHL): Owns a 22-13-0 record with a 2.92 goals against average and a .918 save percentage with four shutouts. Posted a 4-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .932 save percentage for second-place Russia at the World Juniors.

Miroslav Kopriva - Austin (CHL): Owns a 12-3-0 record with a 2.33 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Named the CHL Goaltender of the Week on December 5, and was recalled by Houston on March 8.

Kristofer Westblom - Kelowna (WHL): Owns an 15-6-1 record with a 2.95 goals against average and a .890 save percentage.
