Wild Television Schedule Announced

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with FSN North, KSTC.TV, Channel 45 and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS today announced the club’s cable broadcast and over-the-air television schedule for the 2006-07 season.  FSN North will televise a total of 45 games, KSTC.TV will broadcast 23 contests and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will broadcast two matches.  The Wild are also scheduled to make four national television appearances on OLN this year.

FSN North will broadcast four of the five games during the Minnesota Wild’s season-opening five-game homestand, including the home opener on Thursday, October 5 against the Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 PM.  Additional highlights of the 45-game schedule include 16 games against Northwest Division opponents, including five each against the Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks, four against the Calgary Flames and two against the Edmonton Oilers.  FSN North will also broadcast three games each against the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks and two contests against the Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes along with Minnesota’s game against the Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday, January 2.  FSN North’s schedule includes 20 telecasts at Xcel Energy Center and 25 road contests.

KSTC.TV, Channel 45 will begin its broadcast schedule on Thursday, October 12 when the Minnesota Wild hosts the Washington Capitals at 7:00 PM.  Additional highlights of the 23-game schedule include 10 contests against Northwest Division foes, including three each against Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and one match against Colorado.  Included in KSTC.TV’s broadcast schedule are two games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota’s match against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, February 10.  KSTC.TV will broadcast 14 games at Xcel Energy Center, including the final three games of the season, and nine road telecasts.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will broadcast two divisional home games this season; against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, February 25 at 1:00 PM and against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 PM.  Both games will also be simulcast on KSTC.TV, Channel 45.

All Minnesota Wild telecasts will feature play-by-play announcer Dan Terhaar and color analyst Mike Greenlay.
