Aeros To Participate In Record-Setting Reading Campaign

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros will participate in a record-setting reading campaign tonight at Starbucks at 5115 Buffalo Speedway. AeroDynamics member Jeremiah Kliesing will read The Little Engine That Could, and answer questions about the book. The book with its “I Think I Can” message will take the spotlight as people of all ages read the children’s classic and set the world record for most individuals reading the same book in a single day.

“When contacted by Starbucks, we saw this as a great opportunity to have one of our AeroDymanics team members involved,” HAC Executive Director Courtney Eidman said. “Houston Aeros Charities strives to help children in Houston, and we are really excited to take part in this record-setting endeavor.”

Through August 28, Starbucks stores across the country will offer a custom limited edition version of The Little Engine That Could as part of Thursday’s largest shared-reading experience ever, as part of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Campaign. The goal of the Campaign is to connect adults to the powerful learning relationships that all children need before they enter kindergarten by raising awareness about the early education crisis, providing effective tools to address the crisis, and engaging Americans in the early learning experience that put children on a course for success in school and life.

Other supporters of the Campaign include Mrs. Laura Bush, Honorary Chairperson, as well as Today show host, Matt Lauer, who will broadcast live from Rockefeller Center, as he reads The Little Engine That Could and champions the importance of quality early education for all children in this country.
