FOX Sports Net North Going Wild

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild and FSN North jointly announced today that FSN North will televise a Wild Str8up Draft Show on Sunday, October 1 at 10:00 PM, a Wild Preseason Special on Monday, October 2 at 10:00 PM and “In My Own Words” with Wild assistant coach Mike Ramsey on Sunday, October 8 at 10:00 PM.


The half-hour Wild Str8up Draft Show provides a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s participation in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft held in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 24.  The show includes exclusive interviews with President and General Manager Doug Risebrough and Assistant General Managers Tom Lynn and Tom Thompson in Vancouver and behind-the-scenes access to scouting meetings and player draft interviews, including first round draft pick James Sheppard.  The Wild Str8up Draft Show will also air on FSN North on Tuesday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00 PM.

FSN North will televise a Wild Preseason Special previewing the 2006-07 NHL season on Monday, October 2 at 10:00 PM.  The half-hour show features interviews with Wild players and Head Coach Jacques Lemaire regarding the start of the Wild’s sixth NHL campaign.

“In My Own Words” with Mike Ramsey will air on Sunday, October 8 at 10:00 PM as FSN North premieres its first episode of “In My Own Words” that features a member of the Minnesota Wild.  Minnesota hockey legend and Wild assistant coach Mike Ramsey discusses his life on and off the ice, from being a part of the “Miracle on Ice,” gold-medal winning 1980 Olympic hockey team to a stellar career in the NHL, which included 18 seasons as a player.

FSN North will televise 45 Minnesota Wild games this season, starting with the 2006-07 regular season home opener against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, October at 7:30 PM.

FSN North reaches more than 3 million homes throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota and telecasts nearly 2,600 hours of locally produced programming per year.
