Wild to unveil reading improvement award
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced that the team will unveil the Traveling Stanley Reading Improvement Award during a school assembly at Randolph Heights Elementary School in St. Paul on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

Randolph Heights Elementary School is being awarded the Traveling Stanley Reading Improvement Award based on their 2008-09 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) reading scores. Randolph Heights had the highest percentage of growth of an elementary school in St. Paul Public Schools. The Award will be displayed at the school all year long.

Brad Bombardir, Minnesota Wild Senior Director of Community Relations and Nordy will help unveil the Traveling Stanley Reading Improvement Award. Randolph Heights Principal Nancy Flynn and Nancy Stachel, St. Paul Chief of Schools, will also be present at the assembly.

The Traveling Stanley Reading Improvement Award spent the 2008-09 school year at Hayden Heights Elementary School. The Wild will continue to honor the St. Paul elementary school with the most improved reading scores each year with the Traveling Stanley Reading Improvement Award.
