Wild Prospects Report - Oct. 20


HOUSTON AEROS (3-3-0-0, 4th in West Division) – The Aeros earned their third weekend split of the season, defeating the San Antonio Rampage, 5-2, before falling to the Texas Stars, 5-1, in a shootout at Toyota Center Saturday. Houston handed the Rampage its first regulation loss of the season with the help of two goals from RW Duncan Milroy on Friday night. RW Danny Irmen, C Peter Zingoni, and D Ryan Gunderson also scored for Houston in the win in front of 6,567 at Toyota Center. The Aeros fell to intra-state rival Texas on Saturday night. RW J-M Daoust scored the lone Houston goal and G Wade Dubielewicz replaced Anton Khudobin in net after he gave up four second period goals. The Aeros face the Lake Erie Monsters Wednesday night before traveling to San Antonio for a series with the Rampage this weekend.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft has played 10 games with zero goals and four assists, with a -2 rating.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): Fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft has five goals and three assists in 11 games, with a -1 rating. He ranks second among Hitmen in goals, two of which have come on the power play, and one of which was a game-winner. Calgary is 8-3-0-0 this season and is ranked #1 in the Canadian Hockey League.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round pick (55th overall) in 2008 Draft has averaged a point per game with two goals and six assists in eight contests, with a +3 rating. He ranks second among team blueliners in goals, points and plus/minus.

College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit, picked up two assists in four games, with a +3 rating.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit is tied for Omaha's team lead in goals (two), assists (2), and points (4). Has scored a shorthanded goal and a game-winner.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) was held without a point in the team's first series of the season against North Dakota.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) has not registered a point and is a -1 in four games.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick (102nd overall) has one assist in three games and is tied for the team lead with a +3 rating.

Goaltenders

Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
Third round pick (77th overall) is 5-5-0-0 in 10 games with a 3.08 goals against average, and a .905 save percentage.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): Is 5-5-0-0 in 11 games with a 3.38 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.
