Wild Prospects Report - Nov. 11


HOUSTON AEROS (8-7-0-0, T-2nd in West Division) –
The Aeros returned to Houston after a winless three-game road trip and went undefeated in two games at Toyota Center. Houston topped the Manitoba Moose, 4-1, Thursday night before recording a 5-2 win over the San Antonio Rampage Saturday night. RW Danny Irmen and D Maxim Noreau each notched two goals to lead Houston to the 4-1 victory over the Moose Thursday, while G Anton Khudobin earned the win. Former President George H.W. Bush watched five different players tally goals for the Aeros as Houston topped the Rampage, 5-2, on Military Appreciation Night Saturday. Khudobin made 24 saves to earn his third straight victory. The Aeros travel to Cleveland for a series with the Lake Erie Monsters Friday and Saturday and host the Chicago Wolves Sunday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft has four assists in 13 games and was named to the OHL roster for the 2009 Subway Super Series.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): Fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft had a goal and an assist in two games last week, giving him seven goals and 11 points in 21 games. Calgary is 16-5-0-0 this season and is ranked #3 in the Canadian Hockey League.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round pick (55th overall) in 2008 Draft ranks second among team blueliners in goals (4), points (14) and plus/minus (+4). He was named to the QMJHL roster for the 2009 Subway Super Series.

College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit, has two goals and four assists in 11 games.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit scored four goals and added two assists in a 7-4 win over Waterloo last week. Now leads the team with eight goals and ranks second with 15 points in 11 games.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) was suffered a broken jaw October 30 and is expected to miss six weeks.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) has one assist in 10 games.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) has one goal and one assist in seven games, and is a +5.

Goaltenders

Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
Stopped 87 of 91 shots faced last weekend. Now ranks tied for third in the OHL in wins (10), fifth in save percentage (.922), and seventh in goals against average (2.77). Was named Canadian Hockey League Goalie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 25.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): Is 6-9-0-0 in 16 games with a 3.90 goals against average and a .876 save percentage.
