Wild Prospects Report - Nov. 24


HOUSTON AEROS (10-10-1-0, T-2nd in West Division) –
The Aeros defeated Peoria in a shutout win Wednesday before being swept by the Milwaukee Admirals this past weekend. Houston defeated the Peoria Rivermen, 1-0 Wednesday night at Toyota Center. G Anton Khudobin stopped all 16 shots he faced in his third shutout of the season. The Aeros dropped a 3-2 decision to Milwaukee Saturday night in Houston. RW Petr Kalus and C Chad Rau each scored for Houston while Khudobin and G Wade Dubielewicz split time in the Houston net. The Admirals finished the series sweep Sunday, as the Aeros fell 2-1 in OT. Kalus scored the lone goal for Houston while Khudobin made 20 saves in the loss. The Aeros go on the road this week, facing Hamilton Wednesday before matchups in Syracuse Friday and Toronto Saturday.

Future Wild Update
Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft has six assists in 18 games. Has been named a co-captain for OHL roster in the 2009 Subway Super Series.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft now has nine goals among 14 points in 26 games this season.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round pick (55th overall) in 2008 Draft is averaging better than a point per game with five goals and 14 assists in 18 games. He will represent the QMJHL in the Subway Super Series.

College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit, has two goals and five assists in 17 games with Omaha, which has the best record (15-2-0) in the USHL.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit now has 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists in 16 games. He now ranks third in the USHL in scoring and second with a +16 rating.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) was suffered a broken jaw October 30 and is expected to miss six weeks.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) has one assist in 14 games for the 6-5-3 Irish.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) has two goals and two assists in nine games, and is a +3. He leads all Catamount defensemen in goals.

Goaltenders

Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) in last year's draft now ranks tied for first in the OHL with a .927 save percentage, fourth with 12 wins and eighth with a 2.63 goals against average.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in last year's draft is 7-12-0-0 in 20 games with a 3.64 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
