Wild Prospects Report - Dec. 1

HOUSTON AEROS (12-10-1-1, 2nd in West Division) –
The Aeros skated to a successful road trip, earning five of a possible six points in three games last week. Houston earned a 1-0 shutout of the Hamilton Bulldogs Wednesday night. RW Jean-Michel Daoust scored the lone goal of the game for Houston and G Anton Khudobin saved all 26 shots faced to record his league-leading fourth shutout of the season. The Aeros fell, 4-3, in a shootout at Syracuse Friday night. RW

Last Week's Prospect Report: Nov. 24

News: Earl, Sifers Reassigned
Carson McMillan, Daoust and LW Petr Kalus each scored for the Aeros in the shootout loss. Houston made a quick rebound with a 2-1 OT win at Toronto Saturday. C Chad Rau scored the lone regulation goal D Maxim Noreau netted the GWG in OT, while G Wade Dubielewicz (3-7-0) made 19 saves in the victory. The Aeros face the San Antonio Rampage in a home-and-home series starting in Houston Thursday at 11:05 a.m. before traveling to San Antonio Friday night.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft scored his first goal of the season last week and now has eight points (1-7=8) in 21 games. Has been named a co-captain for OHL roster in the 2009 Subway Super Series.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft now has nine goals among 14 points in 27 games this season.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round pick (55th overall) in 2008 Draft is averaging better than a point per game with five goals and 14 assists in 18 games. He ranks second among team defensemen with a +8 rating. He will represent the QMJHL in the Subway Super Series.


C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit, has two goals and five assists in 18 games with Omaha, which has the best record (17-3-0) in the USHL.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft racked up six points (3-3=6) and a +3 rating in three games last week. Haula now ranks third in the USHL with 31 points (12-19=31) in 19 games, and second with a +19 rating.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) is expected to return from a broken jaw later this month.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) has one assist in 16 games for the 7-5-4 Irish.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) leads all Vermont defensemen with two goals and four points in 11 games, and is a +4.


Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) in last year's draft stopped 30 shots to earn a win for Team OHL in the 2009 Subway Super Series. He ranks second in the OHL with a .927 save percentage, fourth with 13 wins and seventh with a 2.66 goals against average.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in last year's draft is 8-13-0-0 in 20 games with a 3.47 goals against average and a .892 save percentage.
