and goaltender Matt Hackett, a third round pick (77th overall) in last year's draft, will participate in the camp from December 12-16.

Team Canada will select their junior team at the conclusion of the camp. Hackett will be one of two goaltenders selected from a pool of four. Scandella is among 12 defensive candidates, three of whom were on Canada's gold medal-winning team last year.

Scandella is in the midst of a stellar third season with Val D'Or of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, having racked up five goals and 14 assists and a +8 rating through 18 games. He was named to the QMJHL team in the 2009 Subway Super Series.

Hackett is posting superb numbers in his fourth season in the Ontario Hockey League. The Plymouth Whaler ranks second in the OHL with a .927 save percentage, fourth with 13 wins and seventh with a 2.66 goals against average.

Two players from the WCHA have also been invited to the camp. Defensemen Patrick Wiercioch of Denver and Dylan Olsen of Minnesota Duluth will vie for a spot on the team.
