Wild About Children
The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that Wild About Children, presented by R.F. Moeller Jeweler contributed $100,000 to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In its six year history the Wild About Children event has contributed over $600,000 to benefit Children’s Hospital.

Wild About Children was held on Monday, Nov. 30 at Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant in downtown St. Paul with proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The entire Wild roster served as celebrity waiters and traded in their jerseys for aprons to wait on the 150+ guests in attendance. The event raised money through several fundraising vehicles, including a silent and a live auction. One lucky drawing winner received a $5,000 gift card toward a Rolex at R.F. Moeller Jeweler and a suite for a Wild game. The Wild donated tickets to Wednesday’s game to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and the children were able to witness the on-ice check presentation for $100,000.

“We are grateful for the continued support of the Minnesota Wild and are proud to count them as part of our team at Children’s,” said Alan L. Goldbloom, MD, President and CEO of Children's of Minnesota. "Wild About Children is always a fun event, and it plays an important role in helping us provide the best care possible to all of the children and families that we serve."

The Minnesota Wild Foundation dedicates its unique resources to support children’s medical causes, educational initiatives and to advance youth hockey throughout the State of Hockey.

Since its inception in 2000, the Minnesota Wild has invested more than $3.5 million dollars back into the community. The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the seventh-largest children’s health care organization in the U.S., with 332-staffed beds at its two hospital campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. An independent, not-for-profit health care system, Children’s of Minnesota provides care through over 14,000 inpatient visits and more than 200,000 emergency room and other outpatient visits each year.
