Wild Prospects Report - Mar. 16

HOUSTON AEROS (29-29-6-4, 7th in West Division) – Houston earned a point in two-of-three contests last week playing games three nights in a row. The Aeros hosted Peoria Friday evening, but allowed the GWG with a minute left in regulation, falling to the Rivermen, 4-3. J-M Daoust scored twice to lead Houston while Anton Khudobin stopped 17 shots in the loss. The Aeros traveled to Chicago Saturday, falling in a shootout, 2-1. Duncan Milroy scored the lone goal for Houston and Khudobin stopped 27-of-28 in his third shootout loss of the season. The Aeros ended the week with a 3-2 shootout loss in Rockford Sunday evening. Petr Kalus and Justin Falk scored for Houston while Khudobin made 28 saves in the loss. The Aeros have a week of practices before hosting Milwaukee for back-to-back tilts Saturday and Sunday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft finished the regular season with five goals and 17 assists in 52 games, and a +9 rating. Ottawa finished the season ranked second in the Eastern Conference and will face Niagara in hte opening round of the OHL playoffs beginning Friday.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft finished the regular season with 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 68 games. Calgary won the last nine games of the season to clinch the best regular season record in the WHL. Calgary will face Moose Jaw in the opening round of the WHL playoffs beginning Thursday.

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round selection (55th overall) in 2008 finished the regular season with nine goals and 22 assists in 31 games, all before serving a 15-game suspension for a hit to the head on February 3.   

College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit owns 20 points on five goals and 15 assists in 49 games. Omaha has clinched a playoff spot.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft scored one goal in two games over the weekend. He ranks fith in the USHL in scoring with 65 points on 25 goals and 40 assists. He ranks third with a +34 rating. Omaha has clinched a playoff spot.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) finished his season with two goals and an assist in 34 games.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) leads all Vermont defensemen in scoring with five goals and 10 assists in 37 games. Vermont will face Boston College in the Hockey East semifinals on Friday.

Goaltenders

Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) last summer finished the season with a 33-18-1-2 record, a 2.62 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. Plymouth will face Sault Ste. Marie in hte first round of the OHL playoffs beginning Friday.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) finished the regular season with a 28-23-0-4 record, a 2.73 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.
