Canadian Hockey Leagues
D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL): First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft helped posted four assists in five games as Ottawa won its first round playoff matchup with Niagara, 4-1. Cuma finished the regular season with five goals and 17 assists in 52 games, and a +9 rating.
LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft scored a goal and an assist as Calgary won its opening round playoff series in seven games over Moose Jaw. Foucault finished the regular season with 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 68 games. Calgary won the last nine games of the season to clinch the best regular season record in the WHL.
D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round selection (55th overall) in 2008 totaled six points on two goals and four assists in six playoff games to lead all team defensemen. Val-D'Or dropped its opening round series against Rouyn-Noranda, 4-2. Scandella finished the regular season with nine goals and 22 assists in 31 games.
C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit owns 21 points on five goals and 16 assists in 52 games. Omaha sits atop the West Division and ranks second in the USHL.
LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft ranks tied for sixth in the USHL with 67 points (26-41=67) and tied for seventh with a +31 rating.
D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) finished his season with two goals and an assist in 34 games.
D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) saw his season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA tournament in a 3-2 loss to Wisconsin. Medvec led all Vermont defensemen in scoring with five goals and 10 assists in 38 games.
Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL): The third round draft pick (77th overall) last summer went 3-0-0 last week as Plymouth clinched a 4-1 series victory over Sault Ste. Marie. Will face the Windsor Spitfires in the next round beginning Thursday night. Hackett finished the season with a 33-18-1-2 record, a 2.62 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. He signed an entry level contract with the Wild on March 16.
Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) saw his season come to an end last week as Red Deer was swept in the first round by Saskatoon. Kuemper finished the regular season with a 28-23-0-4 record, a 2.73 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.
