Every Wild Game To Be Televised


The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with FOX Sports North and KSTC-TV, Channel 45, today announced the club’s cable broadcast and over-the-air television schedule for the 2010-11 season. A franchise record 84 games will be televised this season including all 82 regular season contests for the first time in team history. FOX Sports North will televise a total of 50 games and KSTC-TV, Channel 45 will broadcast 24 contests. The Wild will also make 10 national television appearances this season.

“We are very excited to announce our most comprehensive television schedule in team history,” said Bill Robertson, Minnesota Wild Vice President, Communications and Broadcasting. “Fans can look forward to watching every regular season Wild game on television this season.”

FOX Sports North’s telecast schedule features 23 different opponents and begins with the Wild’s home opener against Edmonton on Oct. 14. FOX Sports North will broadcast 16 games against Northwest Division opponents, three contests each against Los Angeles, Nashville, St. Louis and San Jose and two matches each against Dallas and Detroit. FOX Sports North will also telecast games against the following Eastern Conference opponents: Atlanta, Boston, Florida, New York Rangers, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Toronto and Washington. FOX Sports North’s schedule includes 22 telecasts at Xcel Energy Center and 28 road contests. Wild Live on FOX Sports North airs before and after every game telecast.

KSTC-TV, Channel 45 will broadcast preseason games on Sept. 24 at St. Louis and the Wild’s final preseason contest Sept. 30 vs. Columbus. Additional highlights of the 24-game schedule include seven contests against Northwest Division foes, the first match-up against the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 30 and two matches against Dallas. KSTC-TV, Channel 45’s broadcast schedule features 17 different Wild opponents, including six Eastern Conference teams: Buffalo, Montreal, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. KSTC-TV, Channel 45 will broadcast 14 games at Xcel Energy Center and 10 road contests.

FOX Sports North reaches more than 2 million homes throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota and telecasts nearly 2,600 hours of locally produced programming per year. The Emmy Award-winning regional sports network provides comprehensive coverage of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, MLB’s Minnesota Twins, the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx as well as the University of Minnesota athletic events.

KSTC-TV, Channel 45, the Twin Cities only independent television station, is in its sixth season as the exclusive over-the-air broadcast partner of the Minnesota Wild. KSTC-TV, Channel 45 sports broadcasts include the Emmy Award-winning Minnesota State High School League Championship Tournaments, Saint Paul Saints baseball and the fast-paced action of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. Part of the rich broadcasting heritage of Hubbard Broadcasting, one of only a few family-owned television groups in the country, KSTC-TV, Channel 45 is the station to turn to for local news, top rated network syndication and local sports action. Reaching more than 1.7 million homes, KSTC-TV, Channel 45, is available in high-definition over-the-air on channel 45; and on Comcast channel 238 in St. Paul and Comcast channel 439 in Minneapolis. The station is also carried on DirecTV and Dish Network satellite systems.

All Minnesota Wild telecasts will feature play-by-play announcer Dan Terhaar and color analyst Mike Greenlay. A majority of Wild games will be telecast in high-definition this season. A comprehensive high-definition Wild television schedule will be announced at a later date.
