Post Game Notes vs. Columbus (Oct. 16)
C R.J. Umberger snapped a tie with a shorthanded goal midway through the third period, C Mathieu Garon made 21 saves and RW Chris Clark had two assists, leading the Columbus Blue Jackets past the Minnesota Wild, 3-2, in front of 17,336 at Xcel Energy Center.

D Brent Burns and RW Cal Clutterbuck scored a goal apiece, and C Matt Cullen and RW Martin Havlat supplied two assists each for Minnesota, which hosts Vancouver on Tuesday at 8 p.m. G Niklas Backstrom made 22 saves for Minnesota.

D Brent Burns scored his second goal of the season. He is the only Wild defenseman to score a goal this season.

RW Cal Clutterbuck scored his first goal of the season. His goal late in the second period marked the Wild’s second non power play goal of the season, and first in 218 minutes, 10 seconds.

C Matt Cullen recorded two assists and has six points (2-4=6), including three multiple point games, in four games this season.

RW Martin Havlat posted his first two-assist game since March 14 against St. Louis.

Minnesota saw its four-game home win streak over Columbus snapped, and fell to 11-2-1 in the last 14 home meetings.

Since the lockout, the Wild is 24-6-1 in October home games, including a 19-4-1 mark the last five seasons.

The Wild wore its green third jerseys for the first time this season. Last season, Minnesota went 9-2-2 at home in the thirds.

Minnesota allowed a third period goal for the first time this season. It has outscored its opponents 3-1 in the final 20 minutes.

The Wild failed to score first for the first time in four games this season.

Minnesota has scored eight of its 10 goals this season on the power play. The Wild went 1-for-5 with the man advantage tonight.
