Fantasy Pick: Brent Burns
Brent Burns continues to have one of the best Movember staches among his Minnesota Wild Mo Bros, but he's been making headlines for another reason: his recent red-hot play.
Burnsie picked up the first two-goal game of his career in the Wild's last contest Saturday in Columbus with two power-play markers. His five goals this season lead all Wild players and rank T-1st (with tonight's opponent Dustin Byfuglien) among all NHL defensemen.
Burns now has eight point (5-3=8) in 13 games this season, already eclipsing his goal total from last year, when he tallied 20 points (3-17=20) in 47 games.
While Burns' offensive contributions this season are stellar, they are even more remarkable when you look at how good he has played defensively. Burns is often lined up against the opponents top stars and has been keeping them quiet all season.
He also leads Minnesota with 24:24 TOI/game and gets plenty of time to shine on the Wild power play, currently ranked second in the NHL (27.1%).
