Wild Prospects Report - Nov. 16


HOUSTON AEROS (7-6-1-2, 5th in West Division) –
The Aeros picked up points in three of their four games this past week (1-1-2). They recorded a pair of 3-2 SOL in Abbotsford Monday and Tuesday, followed by a 3-0 loss in Peoria on Saturday. Houston was then able to break into the win column on Sunday, scoring four unanswered goals in a 5-2 win at Peoria. In the four games, 16 different players recorded points for the Aeros with RW Jon DiSalvatore (0-3=3) and D Maxim Noreau (1-2=3) leading the way with three points each. G Matt Hackett was 1-0-1 with 4 GA and a .931 SV% in two starts. Overall, Houston is 7-6-1-2, good for 17 points and 5th place in the West Division. G Anton Khudobin is fifth in the AHL in SV% (.934%) and sixth in GAA (2.07). D Jarod Palmer (2-7=9) and current Wild call-up LW Robbie Earl (4-5=9) co-lead the Aeros with nine points. This week the Aeros hit the ice four times beginning Wednesday vs. Chicago. They then have three games in three nights starting Friday night at Grand Rapids, then Saturday in Chicago and they cap off the week by hosting Texas on Sunday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL):
Second round pick (39th overall) in 2010 Draft upped his goal total to six with a tally in a 4-1 win over the weekend. He now has 12 points (6-6=12) through 20 games and ranks third on the team in goals.

D Josh Caron - Kamloops (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing played two games and was a +4 before suffering a broken collar bone that will sideline him for two more weeks. 

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft returned from a shoulder injury on Wednesday and scored a goal. He now has four goals and five assists through 14 games.

D Colton Jobke - Kelowna (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to miss one week. He has a goal and five assists through 17 games.

D Bjorn Krupp - Belleville (OHL): The 2009 free agent signing has posted two assists through 16 games. He's also accumulated 25 penalty minutes.

RW Dylen McKinlay - Chilliwack (WHL): The seventh round pick (189th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft has tallied three assists through eight games, but suffered a knee injury on October 15 and has been out since then. He is listed as "week-to-week."
   
College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Colgate (ECAC): The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft recorded an assist on Friday for his first collegiate point in his third game.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 was off last week. With two goals and nine assists in 10 games, he ranks second on the team in scoring.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 was a +2 in two games last week. He's totaled four points (1-3=4) in nine games. His point total last year as a sophomore was three (2-1=3).

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick (102nd overall) in 2006 helped Vermont to its first win of the season with a victory over Boston College. He has one assist through eight games.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round selection (59th overall) in 2010 Draft picked up an assist and 14 penalty minutes in a win over Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday. He ranks second among Pioneers in goals (seven) and points (10).

International

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 has missed the last seven games with an injury suffered on October 14. He had previously scored three goals and eight assists through 12 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft has one assist in 13 Elite Level games.

F Jere Sallinen - Blues Espoo (Finland): The sixth round selection (163rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has two goals and five assists through 20 games this season. He is a +6 on the year.

Goaltenders

Dennis Endras - Augsberger (Germany):
The 2010 free agent signing went 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .901 save percentage while leading Germany to wins over Canada and Switzerland in the Deutschland Cup. The Germans captured seven points to claim the best record in the tournament. In German League play, he is 7-6-2, and owns a 3.46 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.

Johan Gustafsson - VIK (Sweden): The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft suited up for the Sweden U-20 team in three exhibition games against United States collegiate teams two weeks ago. He went 1-2, allowing eight goals with a .915 save percentage against Harvard, Merrimack and UMass-Amherst.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2009 improved his record to 14-4-2 after going 2-0-1 last week. On Tuesday, he stopped 34 shots to earn his third shutout of the season. He leads the WHL in wins, goals against average (1.78) and ranks second in save percentage (.934).
