Fantasy Pick: Antti Miettinen
Even if Antti Miettinen hadn't scored in the most recent Wild game, he would still be one of the best candidates for today's fantasy spotlight. But surely, Mittens' first career overtime game-wining goal Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks sealed his spot in the limelight.
Here at wild.com, we're not fans of head injuries, but Miettinen has been on a tear since returning from a concussion suffered Oct. 25 against Los Angeles. After missing five games with the injury, he has totalled three goals in four games since returning to the lineup on Nov. 11.
Miettinen has totaled nine points (5-4=9) in 12 games this season, T-5th on the Wild. His five goals this year are T-2nd on the team with Brent Burns, trailing only Cal Clutterbuck's six markers. Mittens also ranks T-2nd on the Wild with 40 shots.
Miettinen has also been a part of the Wild's terriffic power play, currently the best in the NHL with a 29.0 percent conversion rate.
