Post Game Notes vs. New York Rangers (Nov. 20)

C Artem Anisimov, D Michael Del Zotto and LW Alex Frolov each scored a second period goal and G Martin Biron made 26 saves, as the New York Rangers defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-2 in front of an overflow sellout crowd of 18,695 at Xcel Energy Center.

C Matt Cullen and RW Marty Havlat scored a goal apiece and G Niklas Backstrom made 25 saves for Minnesota, which had a three-game winning streak snapped. The Wild plays host to Philadelphia on Wednesday at Xcel Energy Center.

RW Martin Havlat scored a goal to extend his point streak to five games (2-6=8). Havlat has 11 points (3-8=11) in his last nine games.

C Matt Cullen scored his 11th career shorthanded goal. He has four goals this season – three PPG and one SHG.

Attendance for the game was an overflow sellout at 18,695. That’s the largest crowd of the season at Xcel Energy Center.

G Niklas Backstrom made 25 saves. Backstrom allowed more than two goals for the second time in nine starts at Xcel Energy Center this season. He had been 5-1-1 in his last seven home starts with a 1.26 GAA and a .958 SV%. Backstrom allowed five goals in a home start for the first time since Jan. 9, 2010.

The Wild went 0-for-4 on the power play and is 0-for-8 on the man advantage in the last three games. This marks the first time all season Minnesota has gone three straight games without a PPG.

The Rangers snapped a three-game losing streak in St. Paul.

RW Marian Gaborik and LW Derek Boogaard played at Xcel Energy Center for the first time as visitors. Gaborik registered an assist.

The Wild yielded three goals in a period for the third time this season. Minnesota surrendered five goals at Xcel Energy Center for the first time since March 7, 2010, against Calgary.
