Movember World Record
For the second straight season, the Minnesota Wild celebrated November by participating in MOvember, a charity initative where men grow moustaches to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and other men's health initiatives. Led by defenseman Nick Schultz, Wild players grew staches and were involved in the effort throughout the month as the "Minnesota Wild Mo Bros" Movember team.

Staff members also grew mos and the Wild organization held a special crusade at the Nov. 26 contest against the Predators, the Wild's final home game of Movember. Partnering with Sun Country Airlines and KARE 11, the Wild had numerous stache events at the game, concluding with an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for largest gathering of people with real moustaches. The previous record was 151 men at a football game in Scotland, and while it will take a week for Guinness to verify the attempt, Wild fans easily trumped the Scots, shattering the old mark as a whopping 1,131 men moustached men took to the Xcel Energy Center ice after the 5-2 Wild win.

Below are photos from the great Movember celebration:

All fans attending the game received stick-on moustaches, courtesy of Sun Country Airlines.

Sun Country Airlines also gave out special Mo shirts to the first 1,500 people at the game.

Youth hockey program sellers even got into the Mo action.

Fans crowded tables before the Wild game to register their mos to be part of the world record attempt.

Shaving cream and razors were available at the check-in tables, for men who wanted to make their beard eligible, along with chocolate moustaches for sale to benefit the Movember fund.

All generations took part in the celebration.

Only one way to make a hockey hat look better: add a stache.

One of the many staches ready to help break a world record.

And the Cal Clutterbuck version...

Even more Mos ready to support the cause.

That is one advanced child.

Even Nordy, the Wild mascot, grew a Mo, complete with a tickler, to support Movember.

John Shillbreck of Minneapolis, who was picked as having the best moustache in the building, made the "Let's Play Hockey!" declaration before the game.

Moustached fans starting filing out onto the ice shortly after the final horn blew on the Wild's 5-2 victory over Nashville.

Despite having to hustle to catch a plane to Denver for a game the next night, Minnesota Wild Mo Bros Nick Schultz, Brent Burns, Cal Clutterbuck and Brad Staubitz came out to see the crowd as men were still filing onto the ice.

Per Guinness rules, the group of 1,131 men had to wait on the ice 10 minutes to officially set the new world record.
