Fantasy Spotlight: MIN vs. CGY

Fantasy Pick: Martin Havlat

OK, I've got to admit it: I sort of feel like I'm taking the easy way out for today's fantasy spotlight. With the way Martin Havlat has been playing, he could be in the spotlight for every game. I've tried to change things up and spread the love around, but the point of this spotlight is to ultimately tell you which Wild player will give you the best chance to climb the fantasy hockey standings. And, original or not, Marty is that guy for tonight's game against the Calgary Flames.

In his past 10 games, Marty has notched 14 points (4-10=14), including four multi-point games and has recorded at least one point in eight of those 10 contests. Since Nov. 12, only Sidney Crosby (22) has more points than Havlat's 14.

Overall, Havlat leads the Wild with 23 points (5-18=23) and 69 shots in 24 games this season.

Plus, it doesn't hurt your chances that Havlat is a Flames killer. He has 21 points (12-9=21) in 22 career contests. Marty has registered points in seven of his last nine contests versus the Flames (4-5=9), including two-multi-point efforts.
