\"Wild About Children\" Recap

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that in partnership with Morrissey Hospitality Companies and Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant, the Wild About Children event raised $115,000 for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In its seven-year history, the Wild About Children event has contributed more than $714,000 to benefit Children’s Hospital.

Wild About Children was held on Monday, December 6 at Pazzaluna in downtown St. Paul with proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The entire Wild roster served as celebrity waiters and traded in their jerseys for aprons to wait on the nearly 200 guests in attendance. The event raised money through several fundraising vehicles, including a silent and a live auction.

“The Minnesota Wild have been incredible supporters over the years, and we’re proud to have them on our team,” said Alan L. Goldbloom, MD, President and CEO of Children's of Minnesota. "The money raised through Wild About Children will help us deliver on our promise to bring families the best possible health care, specifically tailored to the unique needs of children.”

The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey.
Since its inception in 2000, the Minnesota Wild has invested over six million dollars back into the community. The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the seventh-largest children’s health care organization in the U.S., with 332-staffed beds at its two hospital campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. An independent, not-for-profit health care system, Children’s of Minnesota provides care through over 14,000 inpatient visits and more than 200,000 emergency room and other outpatient visits each year.
