Fantasy Pick: Martin Havlat
There's no rhyme or reason, but sometimes, players just like to play against a certain team. Who knows why they always seem bring their best against that particular opponent, they just do. And for Martin Havlat, that team is the Calgary Flames.
Havlat has 23 points (13-10=23) in 24 career games against the Flames. And it's not just the numbers, but the types of jaw-dropping passes, goals and clutch plays he seems to deliver versus the Northwest Division rival.
Havlat didn't notch a point in the last contest between the two teams Saturday in Calgary, but he did have some great chances. Since Marty didn't get on the board against the Flames, I'm sure he'll be itching to light the lamp tonight in St. Paul, because he doesn't go pointless many games these days.
Havlat has 19 points (6-13=19) in his last 17 games, including five multi-point contests. He is tied with Mikko Koivu for the team lead with 28 points (7-21=28) in 31 games this season.
